红石村隶属广东省广州市从化区太平镇，为镇辖行政村，村委会设在镇域东部。[1] 全村面积约12.4平方千米，下设15个经济社，村委会介绍的人口为2918人、农户568户（该介绍未注明年份）。村委会距从化城区约31公里，距太平镇区约11公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名原作乌石。「文化大革命」期间，有人认为「乌」代表黑色，与革命的潮流不合，红色才是革命的象征，于是改名红石。[1]

据博雅地名网，1983年12月改名红石乡，1987年1月改名红石村民委员会，此名沿用到现在。[1]

荣誉与名单

  • 2019年9月，红石村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
  • 2020年8月，红石村（白榄）列入「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单。[1]
  • 2023年5月，红石村获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号（广东省爱卫会）。[1]
  • 2023年11月，红石村入选「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」。[1]
  • 2024年11月，红石村被认定为「2024年广州市高质量就业社区（村）」。[1]

据村委会介绍，红石村以乌榄为「一村一品」，同时栽种荔枝、龙眼，水田里种水稻和花生。[1] 2020年8月，红石村以白榄列入首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单。[1]

文化[edit]

红石村属古驿道小镇的范围；该小镇由文阁、钱岗、颜村、红石4个村组成，是从化区第二批特色小镇。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

从化区人民政府于2015年发布的历史建筑与传统风貌建筑推荐线索名单中，列有本村的江氏宗祠，共1处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。[3]
