镇湖村是广州市白云区人和镇南部的行政村，机场高速公路由南向北贯穿全村，村庄东北部有北二环高速公路东西向经过，全村面积3.3平方千米，下辖13个经济合作社[1][2]。

地名由来与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，流溪河岸边原有一个叫镇湖市的小集市，旁边的村庄便取名镇湖村。村建于清朝；1951年时叫和平乡，1958年改为镇湖大队，1967年曾叫红卫大队，1984年改称镇湖乡，1987年设村委会[1]。1988年蚌湖独立设镇，其后又划归人和镇[2]。

经济与农业[edit]

全村耕地2124亩，种菜的历史很长，并靠近流溪河；2009年末本地户籍人口3416人，工农业总收入14955万元，人均收入11271元[1]。2021年5月，镇湖村获评2020年度“广州市美丽乡村”，同年成为第二批省级「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村（蔬菜）[1][2]。村里的相思街沿流溪河，有一片约300亩的水稻田，吸引不少游客，2020年12月人和镇第三届农耕文化节曾在这里举行[2]。

文化与名胜[edit]

镇湖村的蚌湖旧墟（蚌湖圩）2014年被确定为广州传统村落，因旧时蚌湖的码头设在这里而形成圩市，已有百年以上的历史[2]。村里有一座“著义小学校”的老校门，是镇湖小学的前身，已有80多年历史，现在只剩校门；1993年成立“著义”教育基金会，由海外侨胞捐款奖励学子[2]。

龙舟[edit]

每年农历五月初一，镇湖与鸦岗两地互访竞渡，称“龙舟景”。据说约三百年前端午，蚌湖与鸦岗各有两条龙舟参加南海的龙舟会景，在珠江石门水域遇到风雨，蚌湖的龙舟被鸦岗收留，两地由此结缘[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

白云区登记保护文物单位中，镇湖村有己章周公祠（周屋）、善达杨公祠（镇清街）、法达杨公祠（东门里），均为清代建筑[3]。村里还组有醒狮队、龙舟队和曲艺队[2]。
