农林街道是广州市越秀区东部的街道，东起福今路东侧，南至菜园西、菜园东和中山二路，西到烈士陵园东门，北抵东风东路，总面积1.08平方千米。[1]辖区下设8个社区，2020年常住人口50152人。[1]街道的名称取自民国初年设在这一带的广东省农林试验场。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，这里隶属番禺县的鹿步司。民国十年（1921年）归入广州市东山区。1960年4月，它同黄花岗街合为农林公社，四年后的1964年，公社又分设出农林街道。街道自2005年起划入越秀区。[3]

街道所在的丘陵地带，竹丝岗、马棚岗都是旧有的地名。宣统元年（1909年）前后，今农林下路东北一带开办农林试验场；有资料称，1909至1924年间，今农林上路、农林下路和农本新村一带被辟为试验场，占地320多亩，按地形土壤分作农区和林区，研究林木培育、果品畜牧和病虫害防治，并设有气象站。[4][5]街道即以此得名。[3]

2014年前后，社区作过合并：新南路居委会并入竹丝岗居委会，三育路居委会并入东风东路居委会。[6][7]中文维基百科依据2023年的区划代码仍列出10个社区，包括新南路和三育路；百度百科和博雅地名网则记作8个社区。[2][1][3]

地理环境[edit]

街道位于越秀区东部，与梅花村街道、大东街道、东山街道、大塘街道、黄花岗街道和华乐街道相邻。[1]街道办事处设在竹丝岗四马路9号。[1]

人口民族[edit]

据2020年人口普查，常住人口为50152人。[1]博雅地名网引用第七次全国人口普查结果，记作4.18万人，在越秀区各街道中排第15位。[3]

经济[edit]

农林下路北起环市东路，南至中山一路、中山二路交汇处，全长约1160米，1930年修成马路，1985年统一称农林下路。[4]东风东路以南的一段是商业街，长858米，1996年一家百货商场开业后逐渐聚集商户，与北京路、上下九并称广州的三大商业街。[4]路与中山路交汇处设有东山电车总站，附近有地铁1号线、5号线、6号线的出口。[4]

文化[edit]

竹丝岗二马路7号是广东省话剧院所在地，其前身是1953年成立的华南话剧团，后改称广东话剧团，1984年定为现名。[5]

农林街社工服务站2012年3月成立，由社会组织承接政府购买的服务，在8个社区各设一个站点。[5]有资料记载辖区内有文物3处、民国骑楼17处、传统风貌建筑24处。[5]

2025年7月，农林街道在「2025活力街道全国500强」榜单中位列第128名。[3]
