东沙街道是广州市荔湾区东南部的街道，原芳村区辖地，东、南两面隔珠江与海珠区、番禺区相望，辖4个社区。[1][2]街道2001年12月成立，2005年随芳村区并入荔湾区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

街道所在地原为东沙经济区，街名由此而来。[2]街道成立于2001年12月29日，当时归芳村区，同东沙经济区管委会共用一套班子；管委会在2004年4月撤销，2005年街道跟着芳村区并入荔湾区。[2]百度百科另称街道名取自原东塱村和沙洛村，两说并存。[1][4]

地理环境[edit]

街道西邻东漖街道、中南街道，北接白鹤洞街道，东、南隔江与海珠区、番禺区相邻。[1]博雅地名网称沿珠江的岸线长7.8公里，总面积7.9平方千米，其中陆地6.3平方千米；百度百科则记总面积为5.64平方千米，两处数字不同。[1][2]

人口与经济[edit]

百度百科记，2011年末街道户籍人口18305人；博雅地名网记户籍人口17212人，并说辖区居民六成以上是外来人员，4个社区中有3个属城中村。[1][2]2021年5月第七次全国人口普查，街道人口为5.55万人。[3]百度百科还记有2011年的经济数字：工业总产值111.57亿元，较上年增长18.2%，同年社会消费品零售总额为6.42亿元，增幅10.6%。[1]

交通[edit]

广州地铁10号线东沙站、11号线鹤洞东站和22号线南漖站设在街道一带。[5]
