历史沿革[edit]
街道成立于1985年10月，隶属荔湾区人民政府，起初称环市西街；1992年6月改用现名。[1]
人口民族[edit]
据第七次全国人口普查结果，街道人口约3.49万，在荔湾区各街道中居第20位；按面积排序居第16位。[1]辖区人口密度约每平方公里3.7万人。[1]

街道下辖站西、西站、陈岗、流花、侨苑、克山6个社区，均属主城区，统计用区划代码以012101至012107编排（无012102）。[1][2]其中站西社区因位于火车站西侧得名，流花社区因毗邻流花湖得名，侨苑社区因居民点为归侨、侨眷及港澳台居民集中居住地得名。[1]
