平岗村在下白石镇区的南侧，共3个自然村，村民分在4个小组。村名来自村后一片平坦的坪地，村子则坐落在山冈上。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国初村地归下白石镇区樟栏乡，名为坪岗村。1969年分开，另立坪岗大队；此后改称平岗村。[1]

据博雅地名网，全村675人、177户，耕地510亩，林地3950亩，水面150亩，主要用于养殖海蛏。农作物以水稻、甘薯、花生、油菜为主。[1]
