东方村是南靖县丰田镇下辖的行政村，村名取「东方红」之意。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

这里的东方作业区建于1966年，最初归宝林作业区管辖，1986年从中分出独立。直到1999年才设立东方村委会。[1]

文化[edit]

2020年1月，东方村经认定为漳州市「一村一品」示范村，主打兰花，该荣誉属2020年度市级。同年12月，村庄进入福建省森林村庄名单（2020年）。[1]

2021年11月，东方村获福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；同年12月，被确定为「福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村（乡镇）」。[1]
