南门村是梅岭镇下辖的行政村，位于镇南部，东连东门村，西南临诏安湾，北至赤石湾村。村委会驻南门，辖南门、地九两个自然村，全村380户、1589人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名取自驻地南门自然村。民国时属梅中乡；解放后先隶第一、第三区宫玄乡，其后，1955年归桥东区宫城乡，此后，1956年又属四都区宫玄乡，接着，1958年划入东方红人民公社宫口管理区。[1]

1964年改隶桥东公社，其后，1982年属梅岭公社。此后，1984年10月起由梅岭乡的南门村委会管理，接着，1991年起称现名。[1]

自然环境与生计[edit]

村子面海而建，平面呈梯形，吴、林、沈三姓杂居。村民讲闽南话，分为3个村民小组，耕地约404亩，山林约1500亩，主种水稻、地瓜与花生。[1][2]

渔业以捕捞为主，出产金色沙丁鱼、石斑鱼、马鲛、鲳鱼等。渔船方面，灯光船有2艘，小机船13艘，大竹排则有350只；鲍鱼场共13处，大型养殖基地占2处。村子可通汽车，海运可直达厦门、汕头。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

南门村的悬钟古城为明代海防城池，城内有关帝庙和果老山摩崖石刻群，城外有望洋台等遗址，博雅地名网称其列入县级文物保护单位。[2][4]

果老山摩崖石刻为明代遗存，位于悬钟城内果老山上，其后，2016年列入县级文物保护单位。村内另有清代的南门胜澳天妃宫，同在悬钟城外，此后，2016年公布为县级文物保护单位。[1][3]

荣誉[edit]

南门村在2019年12月被列入「第一批国家森林乡村」名单。[1]
