渡头社区隶属福建省漳州市芗城区芝山街道，西临九龙江。社区名称源于临江的一处渡船码头，取代了原来的本名东津社，村改社区后沿用此名。2020年6月3日，渡头村改为渡头社区居民委员会。2024年1月，社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

原名东津社，因临江有渡船码头，是南北两岸人员往来、货物运输的要津，久而久之“渡头”取代了本名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时此处归龙溪县二十一都管辖，民国年间则在龙溪县五区铁峰乡之内；1958年划入九湖人民公社，1980年改隶城郊人民公社，1984年又归芝山乡；1993年起为芝山镇下辖的行政村。2020年6月3日，此地改设为渡头社区居民委员会。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

2012年，全村总人口1508人，452户。村中落户有三川钢管、金日电源等企业。[1]

文物古迹[edit]

村中有渡头威惠庙，为漳州市级文物保护单位；另有覆船山古遗迹一处，古代寨堡日升楼。[1]
