溪头村是池店镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域东北部，临近晋江下游，东邻陈埭镇海尾村，南接霞福村，西连东山村。[2]村内只有一个自然村，全村分为6个村民小组。[2]村名原应作溪尾，因自古是晋江沿岸村庄及周边各地进出泉州城的主要渡口，遂称溪头。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两朝该村属三十都，民国时期（1944年）归入梅溪乡溜滨保。[1]新中国成立后，先归池店区池店乡（1956年），继而并入苏厝公社溜石大队（1959年），1961年又改为池店公社溪头大队，1984年设溪头村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

溜石古渡口列入「第四次全国文物普查新发现未定级不可移动文物第一批名录」，为古文化遗址，年代为宋辽西夏金元，位于本村北端、晋江下游“江上塔”东侧。[3]

荣誉[edit]

溪头村于2024年1月被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
