村名来自村落四面环山、出入只有一条小路而显得偏僻闭塞的地势。[2]

地名由来[edit]

村子地处丘陵，四面有低山环绕，早年出入只有一条小路，十分偏僻闭塞，因而称“山边”。[2]

地理环境[edit]

村子依山建屋，三面为低山包围，只有东面有一片平地通向外界，地形状如簸箕，旧时有“簸箕穴”之称。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1956年设山边高级社，1984年分出设立山边村委会。[1]
