山边村在河市镇北部，东侧与惠安县东胡相接，西邻官洋村，南与庄田村相连，北与白洋村、新告村交界。[1][2]

村民聚居在山坡边，故名山边。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代属晋江县四十一都玉泉乡，民国时属大猷乡。[1][2]

1958年设河市公社山边大队；更早时，村属晋江县河市区。1984年先称河市乡山边村，后归河市镇，并设村委会。[1]

2023年2月，本村入选「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村辖山边、大石后、溪埔、莲坂、亭竹五个自然村，全村1447人、403户，博雅地名网未注统计年份。[2]

经济[edit]

博雅地名网称本村是泉州房山岭一带过岭芋头的原产地；今为无公害蔬菜产区，山地多种速生林，另产龙眼、余甘等果树，并有可开采的花岗岩矿。[1][2]
