渡头村是水南镇下辖的行政村，村名因其临近金溪的一处古渡口而来[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

宋代此地归德星坊辖。《将乐县志》（明代）记其隶水南都。清乾隆年间改属水南都上水南的福星坊，民国初年依旧归上水南，1934年才起改属水南保[2]。

1939年此地划入古镛镇；1950年隶新南乡，1952年又改属水南乡[2]。1958年村地成为红星公社水南大队的一部分，1959年12月转入国营水南农场，农场于1960年设立，村地成为其第二管辖区[2]。

1960年之前，三华桥尚未重建，金溪两岸的往来多靠这一渡口过渡[2]。1970年11月，此地改属水南公社；1979年农场恢复后，村地又回归农场，列为第二管理区；至1998年1月水南建镇，渡头之名才得恢复，村民委员会也随之设立[2]。

渡头村在2022年10月被福建省农业农村厅定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」之一[1]。
