埔头村位于尤溪县城关镇东部，跨尤溪河两岸，距城约5公里，土地面积7.87平方千米。[1]
人口与辖区[edit]
村辖大埔、三奎头2个自然村，设6个村民小组，博雅地名网所载为229户、948人，未注统计年份。村内有14个姓氏。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
建国前，大埔与三奎头同属九都。此后曾先后隶属梅仙区与城溪镇，1950年属尤溪县第一区。1951年土改时归东埔乡，同年12月设埔头乡，1953年又归东埔乡，1954年再度设立埔头乡。[1]
1958年改设埔头大队，1984年10月改制建村为埔头村，村部设在大埔。[1]
荣誉[edit]
博雅地名网载，村曾列入「省级第一批百村示范联系村」，并被认定为三明市新农村建设第一批示范村，该页未注授予年份。[1]
