江边村在北高镇内，距镇中心5公里，兼有山地与海岸的特点。村名的来历是早年村民在江畔建屋。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋、元两代此地归崇福乡，明、清两代归兴福里，民国时期属笏石区。1949年隶属北高乡，之后曾分属多处乡级与大队级组织，1972年才设北高公社。1984年称江边村，2002年归荔城区北高镇。[2]

文化[edit]

2021年3月，村子被定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。[1]
