北门社区位于大嶝岛东北部，辖北门一个自然村，村民多蔡姓[1]。

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，明代村民的先祖由金门琼林迁居嶝屿北门，地名因此定为北门。另一种说法是，村民原来来自金门沙尾、桕林等地，村中有五百多年的历史[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地属同安县翔风里大嶝保。民国末年与东埕共同组成嶝东乡后保；1950年改称嶝东乡，隶大嶝区[1]。

1958年先改为东星大队，1975年分出北门大队，归大嶝公社管辖；1984年改为北门村委会，归大嶝乡。2003年起隶翔安区大嶝镇，2005年2月，村委会转为社区居委会[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，社区获「2023年福建省卫生社区」的命名[1]。
