地名由来[edit]

村落聚居在万底山上，因地势高而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年9月，大队改设为高山村委会，仍属高山镇。此前的1958年，此地归高山公社，称高山大队。[1]

清宣统二年（1910年）此地已属高山镇。在这以前，宋代属崇德乡平南里五十九都，为坑中境；明代属北一隅平南里五十九都。1943年设高山保，保驻刘厝；1950年归第四区管辖。[1]

文化[edit]

村内公园中立有龙高革命烈士纪念碑。1947年，中共福清县工委与龙高、东张、琯口三个区工委发动群众、组织武装，筹备开展自卫游击斗争。[1]
