埔头村是永泰县大洋镇下辖的行政村，位于永泰高盖山一带，东壶山脚下，四周群山环抱，地势如盆地。村落面积7.6平方公里，辖2个自然村、18个村民小组。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村子原有一片大草埔，村民在草埔上方建屋居住，故名埔头。[1]

文化与古迹[edit]

村民喜爱戏剧。1950年成立龙门业余闽剧团，1980年改为大洋闽剧团，1985年剧团停办，村中文艺队仍活跃于民间。[2]

汪氏宗祠始建于明天启元年（1621年），1947年重建，1995年重修。祠堂内设学馆，2001年列为县级文物保护单位。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，埔头村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
