中山村沿大樟溪两岸展开，属嵩口镇。民国时此地称集贤保，后改名中山村。[1]

村落面积8平方千米，下辖前局、前林、大门头、下井与山后等小自然村，全村分为8个生产小组。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，中山隶属和平乡英达里三十四都，1936年至1948年称嵩口中山保。1984年，此地改设为嵩口镇中山村民委员会；此前的1961年它是嵩口人民公社的中山生产大队，1958年则属嵩口管理区。[1]

人口民族[edit]

全村共209户，总人口759人。[1][2]

经济[edit]

村中以李果为主，此外产梅子、柑桔、香蕉与西瓜，不少村民外出务工。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

垅口祖厝为清代建筑群，坐西向东，占地3250平方米，由建于清康熙年间的垅口厝与建于清嘉庆年间的和也厝两个合院组成，列入「福建省第九批省级文物保护单位」。[3]

村内另有德新楼和玛祖庙，村头有千年榕树，并新建有中山大桥。[1][2]

文化[edit]

2014年11月，中山村列入「第三批中国传统村落」名录；2021年11月，中山村经福建省爱卫办确定，获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
