1979年福田才单独设立大队，2002年成立福田村村民委员会，延续至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年1月，村里获评「福州市乡村振兴中高级版试点村」。2021年2月，村庄进入「2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。2022年10月，省农业农村厅将村庄列为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2023年12月，村庄获命名「2023年度福建省森林村庄」。2025年11月，村庄被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]

2024年11月，闽侯县委书记到小箬乡调研，走访了福田村的影视创作基地，了解其工作规划和推进情况。[2]
