西社村位于玉田镇西南部，距镇政府约4千米，村内有西社福星寺（八社福星庵）等文物点。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

西社早先与西埔合称「西埔里」。分出后村中多数人姓谢，「谢」与「社」音近，故名西社。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1662年，部分人家由江田迁至西坡，取名江坡。1949年后改称西社村，1960年设西社村委会，沿用至今。[1]

文物古迹[edit]

西社福星寺（八社福星庵）为文物点，2013年公布。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，西社村获评「2021年福建省卫生村」，由福建省爱卫办认定。[1]

2025年5月，西社村入选「福建省美丽乡村示范村」创建名单。[1]
