东方村是浙江省杭州市萧山区瓜沥镇下辖的行政村，位于瓜沥镇最北端，东靠众安村与开源村，南接进化村与运东村，西邻靖江的靖东村。村名以“东方”象征光明而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

二百多年前，此地为钱塘江南岸滩涂，后由绍兴、诸暨与萧山内地农民迁来开垦，渐成村落。民国时期，此地隶萧山县六都六图、七图；1949年5月起归如意乡第十村。解放初设如意农业合作社，公社化时改为如意大队，一度隶六里桥公社。“文革”期间改称东方大队，后隶瓜沥公社；1984年撤社设乡后成为东方村民委员会，1992年撤区扩镇，划为瓜沥镇东方村。[1]
