地名由来[edit]
解放前，此地出生的女子多于男子，旧称「妹子坑」，后来演变为「梅光」。[1]
沿革[edit]
解放初期此地属五里乡。1958年组建梅光大队，当时隶属赤光公社。1980年枫树坝库区公社设立，村子并入枫树坝公社。1983年设乡政府，1986年改为村委会，1989年称管理区，1999年再设村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年10月，梅光村被收入广东省卫生村名录。[1]
