坑口村是汕尾市海丰县平东镇的行政村，在镇的西南面，距镇区约25千米，辖8个自然村，村委驻牛尾石村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
坑口村相传在清乾隆年间立村。1952年属平龙乡，1958年为公平公社平龙大队；1973年平龙大队分出坑口等10个自然村，设坑口大队，1974年归平东公社。1984年称坑口乡，1987年成村委会，1989年改管理区办事处，1998年恢复为村委会。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
据博雅地名网所引材料，全村约1620人、290多户，耕地1600亩（水田1300亩、旱地300亩），种水稻、芋头、生姜、瓜类。[1] 2023年5月，坑口村获广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
凤翔观在村北虎山上，俗称凤髻庵、凤冠庵，是附近十三乡群众敬奉的道教场所。据碑刻等文物考证，明代已在今址右侧有观，乾隆十二年（1747年）租山上李姓地基另建两进三间的观宇。1923年8月16日海丰赤山约总农会遭袭击，彭湃等数十人逃到此观，由道长接济并开会，即所谓「七五农潮」；1928年海陆丰苏维埃政权失败后，观被纵火焚毁，只留残墙和一批石刻。[2][3]
