水美村是鹅埠街道（原鹅埠镇）的行政村，由水尾村和新屋村合并而来，水美古寨在村内。在2026年1月被评为「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

水美的前身是水尾村与新屋村，两村在1958年合组水尾大队，1974年起简称水美大队。之后建制几经变动：1984年为鹅埠区的水美乡，1987年成村民委员会，1989年一度叫管理处办事处，1998年恢复旧制。解放初期它属于四区、鲘门区。^[1]

百度百科称水美古寨是鹅埠的传统村落，在镇南部，背靠狮山，面前是水美洋，平面近半圆，墙高约4米，寨内巷道如棋盘。同条目说，2021年9至10月深汕古驿道探勘的志愿者确认，小漠到鹅埠的古道要经过这座寨。^[2]

博雅地名网记，2026年1月水美村得到「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」的称号。^[1]
