盐町村在马宫街道，汕马公路西侧，临长沙湾出海口，辖区1平方公里，是汕尾的革命老区之一。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
建国之初，盐町属新町乡，在红草区之内。公社化后成立盐町大队，划给马宫公社；1989年改管理区，1999年再改村民委员会，一直归马宫街道。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
下辖2个村民小组、1个自然村，博雅地名网记有235户、1200人。耕地不多，海滩涂却丰富，村里统一规划，开出近2000亩虾池发包给村民，养牡蛎和对虾，作为主导产业。[1]
荣誉[edit]
村在2019年9月入选省里的民主法治示范村（社区）创建名单（2018年度），2020年12月又得到省爱卫会授予的卫生村称号。[1]
