河头村在平远县河头镇中部，是镇人民政府所在的村，全村面积45.9平方千米，下设8个村民小组。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
名称有两说：一说因本地的河头河是柚树河水系中坝头河的上游；一说它是梅江（程江）的源头之一。[1]1949年设河头乡，1958年改称生产大队，1983年复称乡，1987年成立村民委员会，1989年一度称管理区，1999年起又称河头村民委员会。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
村里登记有269户、1007人，耕地785亩；年均气温21.8度，年降水量约2230毫米。种植水稻制种、甜玉米、仙人草，以水稻制种为增收的主要措施，上一年全村农村经济总收入616万元。[1]
