田背村是梅州市大埔县洲瑞镇的一个行政村，镇政府（新店街）所在地，城乡分类为镇中心区。村名来自刘姓先祖在田氏祠堂背后立村的说法。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据村情，刘姓先祖在村里田氏祠堂的后面开基建村，因此叫田背[1]。乾隆九年（1744年）前后，这里属洲都大麻社赤水村；1943年前后属高陂区赤水乡；1952年设田背乡；1958年10月为洲瑞公社田背生产大队；此后到了1983年12月改田背乡，1986年为田背村委会，1988年称管理区，1998年成立村民委员会至今[2]。
经济[edit]
村情称全村设26个村民小组，在册476户、2796人，总面积6.1平方千米，耕地1568亩（未注年份）。主要种水稻、蔬菜、花生和木薯，2009年农村经济总收入2814万元，村集体经济约2.34万元；同时办有分水凹综合种养场和养猪场各一个[1]。
