檀江村在梅州市梅县区隆文镇境内，是镇辖行政村，村名由檀树岗转来。[1]
地名由来[edit]
旧时村子四面环山，山中长有很多檀树，村口一处有几株檀树连生成一大墩，进出的人都要从树下经过，路面用岌岗石铺成。1944年定名檀树岗，后来简称檀岗，因「岗」与「江」同音，又改写为檀江。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年檀江与横坑合并，属横坑乡；1964年为檀溪大队，1987年设檀江管理区，至1999年成为檀江村民委员会，此后未变。[1]
