名称与沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，这里的坡地过去是村民育稻秧的地方，被称作“秧地坡”，1949年后改叫英地坡[1]。英地坡在1958年是竹山公社下的大队，到1983年立乡，1987年随东镇镇建制改设村民委员会，1989年一度设管理区办事处，1999年恢复村民委员会之称，2021年5月起划入玉都街道[1]。
经济[edit]
村下设44个村民小组，耕地1138亩（博雅地名网）；百度百科记户籍人口7116人、耕地1215亩[1][2]。主要作物有青椒、荔枝、龙眼、水稻和蔬菜，上一年农村经济总收入记为4452万元[1]。据百度百科，村里自20世纪90年代起种青梅，到2017年种植面积超过1000亩，每年元旦到小寒期间梅花开满山野，来看花的有茂名、湛江等地的游客[2]。2021年9月，该村以青梅入选「第二批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单[1]。
