历史沿革[edit]
民国后期属塘甲乡；1952年土地改革时属大坡、元山联区；1958年为宝树公社的大坡生产队；1962年与元山分开，设大坡大队。此后名称依次是：大坡乡（1983年）、元洲村民委员会（1987年2月）、管理区办事处（1989年），1999年起又称元洲村民委员会。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
村委会自述（未注年份）：全村面积4.4平方公里，耕地约1696亩，主要经济作物为水稻、青菜、蚕桑，上一年农村经济总收入1350万元。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
