历史沿革[edit]
管区内的自然村以水明为最大，村名由此成为管区名。1958年人民公社化时，竹子、水明、田心统编为水明大队；1961年起，大队只由水明附近8个自然村组成。此后名称依次是：水明乡（1983年）、水明村民委员会（1987年）、管理区办事处（1989年），1999年起又称村民委员会。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
村委会自述（未注年份）：全村面积2.7平方公里，耕地约780亩，主要经济作物为蚕桑、养植，上一年农村经济总收入630万元。[1]
