历史沿革[edit]
村子的形状像龙头，村前有大片沙滩，村民以「龙头沙」为名。[1]
1950年，龙头沙、碗尾等10条村成立龙头沙大队，负责渔业生产；1983年改乡，1987年改管理区，1999年定名龙头沙村委会。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村委会辖10条自然村，登记总人口3945人，党员75人（博雅地名网，未注明年份）。[1]
经济[edit]
耕地仅948亩，种花生等作物。[1] 龙头沙渔港1972年开建、1975年投产，渔船规模近500艘；百度百科称它是廉江市仅有的获农业部批准的三类港口。[4]
名胜古迹[edit]
龙头沙古窑址在车板圩南面约9千米处，有6座依山坡建成的龙窑，排成「川」字形，经鉴定为唐宋时期所建，1987年被列为廉江县文物保护单位。[3]
