历史沿革[edit]
当地传说地下有龙，而村子正建在龙眼的位置，村民因此以「龙眼根」为名。[1]
1950年建龙眼根大队，由龙眼根、蟹地、山猪窝等6条村组成；1983年改乡，1987年改管理区，1999年定名龙眼根村委会。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村委会辖6条自然村，登记总人口2352人，党员50人（博雅地名网，未注明年份）。[1]
经济[edit]
耕地1767亩，种水稻、花生、甘蔗和蔬菜。2019年9月，龙眼根村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
