村里常住1017人、754户；以农业为主，村集体2024年的总收入约为69.36万元。[1]
红色村建设[edit]
茅冈村在2019年成为江门市「红色村」建设试点，2021年中央组织部把它列入红色美丽乡村试点，同年获评广东省乡村治理「百镇千村」示范村；2023年成为广东省「百千万工程」的首批典型村，2024年又评上广东省乡村振兴示范村。[1]村里整修周文雍故居周边建筑、重新布展，并在镇东楼旁的空地建设烈士党建文化公园，推进周文雍陈铁军烈士陵园的升级改造。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
周文雍故居在宝顶村凤凰里，建于清代，是二房二廊一厅的青砖瓦顶建筑，现存占地73.15平方米。2018年投入35万元修缮，2019年春节起开放参观，同年列为广东省第九批省级文物保护单位；2021年重新布展，当年被评为江门市中共党史学习教育基地。[2]
著名人物[edit]
周文雍（1905—1928）出身塾师家庭，1925年入党，参加过省港大罢工和广州起义。1928年2月他与陈铁军在广州被捕，同月6日一同就义。[2]
