历史沿革[edit]
相传建村时靠近山岗，为防匪患，在山岗四周种了簕竹，因而得名。[1]1951年11月成立竹山岗乡农民协会，隶属三水第五区；1958年9月合并宝月，改称东鲁营；1960年1月分为竹山岗、麦村、东鲁三个大队，1963年竹山岗、麦村合并为竹山岗大队。[2]1983年12月改设乡人民政府，1987年2月改为村民委员会，1989年8月改设管理区办事处，1998年12月改为竹山村民委员会。[2]2003年南边街道并入乐平镇，村归乐平镇；2004年7月，竹山岗与兔约两个村委会合并，设竹山村民委员会。[2]
