竹围村位于罗定市罗平镇。陈氏始祖召甫公于公元1576年迁居此地，是村委辖区内最早形成的村落。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

约于明末迁入建村，隶属泷水县四都；清代隶属罗定州四都建水乡。清末至民国，先后隶属罗定县第五区的罗平团中西堡、第四区，1942年起隶属第二区的罗平乡。[2]

1950年5月起隶属第四区西北（双莲）乡，1958年2月至8月隶属罗平合作社，同年9月起隶属东风公社的一个营（生产大队）。1961年6月，村地从所在的生产大队中分出，设立竹围生产大队。[2]

1983年撤大队设竹围乡，1986年改设村民委员会，1989年5月改设管理区，1998年9月重设村民委员会，隶属罗定市罗平镇，沿用至今。[2]
