前进村是郁南县大湾镇下辖的行政村，属镇乡结合区。村名是大跃进时期所取。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

李氏始祖于1428年自南海迁来，清康熙年间黄氏迁入，张氏始祖康熙年间自福建省漳州市南靖县迁来，陈氏于1860年迁入，王氏于1864年迁入。现有黄、张、李、陈、王5姓，黄姓最多，约占40%。[1][2]

村的建置沿革：民国时属大湾乡；建国后划为第五区的大湾行政村。公社化时期设前进生产大队，1958年归大湾管理区，1961年并入大湾人民公社。此后，1983年改为乡，1987年复为村委会，1989年称管理区，1999年又改称村委会。[2]

文化遗存[edit]

大湾古建筑群的部分建筑也分布于本村，其中有李氏大屋宗祠。[3][4]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，前进村被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
