南洋村是富林镇辖下的行政村。村名的来历：相传古时一条大蟒蛇（俗称南蛇）死后盘踞成蛇山，村民在蛇山下定居，称南蛇洋，后改称南洋。[1]2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予村庄「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]2024年12月，村庄入选「省级文化旅游特色村」。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年公社化时，富林公社在蛇山下的南蛇洋村设大队，改名南洋大队。1983年撤社改区，称南洋乡；1986年改设南洋村民委员会，1989年改称南洋管理区，1999年改为村委会，沿用至今。[1]
