新中村位于云城街道辖区内，名称始于1973年设立的新中大队，1999年改称村委会后仍沿用此名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

梁氏始祖于宋咸淳元年从东莞迁来此地建村，此后董、陈、黎、谭等姓氏陆续迁入。[1][2]

1952年设新中乡，隶属附城乡；1954年成立新中高级农业生产合作社，1958年10月设新中生产大队，隶属附城人民公社。1983年改称新中乡，1986年改为新中村委会，1989年改为新中管理区，1994年划归云城街道，1999年改称新中村委会，此后一直属云城街道。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，村上榜2020年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2026年1月，村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
