北村位于洪阳镇，是旧县城北面的村落。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋末，李氏由福建迁入，当时称北门房，因位于厚屿（洪阳）北面。明万历三年（1575年）设普宁县城于洪阳，村落在城北，其后称北门，1963年定名北村。[1]

1963年12月起归洪阳公社，设北村大队；1979年9月划为北村管理区；1984年属洪阳区时设北村乡；1987年并入洪阳镇，为北村村委会；1991年再次称管理区；1999年回到村委会，沿用至今。[1]
