西岭村是东港镇的行政村，地处西部，与陆丰市交界，距县城47公里，距镇区8公里。国道324线穿过村境。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明末（约1625年），许氏自福建汾水迁入开基。1949年此地属葵潭区岭南乡，已称西岭村。[1]

其后的变动如下：1953年归惠来第四区，1958年归鳌江公社，1959年划入葵潭农场大埔分场，1962年场社分拆后再归鳌江公社，称西岭大队。1973年东港设公社，仍称西岭大队。[1]

1983年起改为西岭乡政府，1986年转为村委会，1989年设西岭管理区，1999年再度定为村委会，沿用至今。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子处在「凤地山」西侧，四面山峰环抱，原称西岭肚，后简称西岭。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
