据博雅地名网，清乾隆年间村民把荒山开垦成田，分散的住户聚合成村。1950年建西岭乡，归陂沟乡府管；1952年社改为铜锣湖农场的第一管理区；西岭管理区之名始于1979年；2022年3月又改称西岭村民委员会。[1]
