北山村位于东陇镇西北部，背靠葵岭山系，属纯农村。深汕高速公路、葵和公路及规划中的县城南环二路横穿村子。村名因村北部为葵岭南脉的梅花山而得。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村北部为葵岭南脉的梅花山，因此称为北山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋期间（1133～1279年），陈、黄等姓在此聚居并设立驿站。明代，惠洲史令王螯安的后人定居于此。村子后来因天灾人祸，他姓散去，只剩陈家一位媳妇王氏；洪武二十九年（1396年）她生下一名遗腹子，此子改随母姓，姓王。[2]

明嘉靖四年（1525年）曾在此设北山驿站，今驿道尚存。[2]

1958年至1983年为北山大队，1983年至1986年又设北山乡政府，1987年至1989年成为村委会，1990年至1999年划为北山管理区，1999年才设北山村委会，沿用至今。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，北山村经广东省乡村振兴局确认，成为2021年度乡村治理示范的创建单位。[1]

2022年8月，北山村获评「2022年惠来县首批无毒村（社区）」。[1]

2026年1月，北山村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
