新楼村位于大溪镇东北部，与灰寨镇马路村毗邻。村名的来历是：约1660年前后，三兄弟迁来此地置寨，原地名称「凤地」，四周树木茂盛，三家各建楼、公厅和城楼，故称「凤栖楼」，后取「溪新」与「凤栖楼」的末字，改称新楼。[1]

2009年，在外乡亲出资100多万元，村里建成4公里多的水泥路村道，改善了出行条件。2019年9月，该村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，这里属揭阳第三区，后又属河婆第五区。1983年设区、乡后，该地属大溪区；1986年12月设大溪镇新楼管理区，1999年改为大溪镇新楼村民委员会。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有立祥公祠，列为「三普登记文物」。大溪古驿道在文物名录中也注明于本村，同样列为「三普登记文物」。[3]
