村头村位于横沥镇东部，紧邻东部快线，占地面积约3.48平方千米。村内户籍人口2740人，873户，常住人口超过2.8万人，户籍居民以香姓为主。[1]

村内的葵香园种有百亩向日葵，花海已成为东莞的网红打卡地之一。村子2024年获评第四批「广东省文化和旅游特色村」，是东莞入选的6个村之一。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

香氏的源头是宋代官员查黔辖，他原住在齐地，即今山东一带。元兵入侵中原时，他携家眷南逃，先到南雄珠玑巷，后迁居村头，并把姓氏由「查」改为「香」。元初时，这里形成一甲、五甲、六甲三个自然村。[2]

1953年，村头和田饶步、长巷、六甲、常平白花沥一并组成村沥乡。[2]

经济[edit]

辖区内约有259家企业，其中54家为规模以上企业，经营方向多是模具、服装与五金。2025年村集体总收入3104.18万元，集体总资产38609.1万元。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村里的知青屋老建筑群超过50年历史，香氏名贤馆、村史馆和香村美术馆也在村内。[1][3]
