大埔村在黎溪镇西部，东面临北江河，由原大埔村与红光村于2004年合并而成。村中有较多水库移民。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历是：那时此处店铺众多，因而得名。[1]

村址早年为大埔小乡，后经大队、乡政府和管理区等变化，1998年10月7日，大埔村委会得以重设。红光村委会于2004年12月6日并入大埔村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村庄东靠北江，南接湖溪村，西侧为黎明村，北侧与黎新、黎洞两村接壤。村里的水泥道路直通村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村里主产黑皮冬瓜和砂糖橘，木材和竹材丰富。博雅地名网称，村中探明有石英砂、铅、花岗岩等矿多处，未注年份。[1]

博雅地名网称全村有3000多人，其中移居新镇的约2000人，未注统计年份。[1]

文化[edit]

2019年9月，大埔村入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2021年12月，村里获「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号；2023年5月，上楼组获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
