茅坪村位于秤架瑶族乡西部，距乡政府驻地约14公里，村委会辖19个村民小组，共295户1330人。村名来自村委会原设在本村境内。[1]

与杜菜、大陂两村相邻的是本村东侧；西侧接黄坌镇的水吊村，南侧是黄坌镇大坪村，北侧与漏水坪村、联崆村相连。全村面积约25.15平方千米，属石灰岩地区，平均海拔700米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1940年设保，此后经乡政府、生产大队、管理区等阶段，1999年3月才定为村委会。[2]

2005年4月，县政府批复撤销下塘村委会，并入本村。[2]

产业[edit]

村民种植水稻、小麦、生姜和蕃薯。生姜、红薯、红芽芋和红辣椒是本地的土特产。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，茅坪村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
