1958年建茅坪大队，1983年改设乡政府，1987年称村委会，1989年改管理区，1998年重设村委会并沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
茅坪村以北乡马蹄入选广东省农业农村厅2020年8月公布的首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2026年1月，又被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
