村名的来历是附近有两座高矮大小不一的小山。[1]

2014年底统计，全村共572户、2609人，劳动力809人。农民年人均收入6820元，集体收入12.57万元，经济总收入2465.24万元。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年4月公布的「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单中有双山村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村的建制几经变动：1940年设保，1952年改设乡政府，1958年改为生产大队，1983年又设乡政府，1987年改为村委会，1989年改为管理区，1999年再改为村委会，此后沿用至今。[2]
